Sinroja R8

Sinroja R8H_edited.jpg

This project is a result of our very first bike Sinroja R1! The ever so understanding client, David was a good friend of our first ever client, who bought the R1 and took it to Dubai with him. David was impressed by our work upon seeing it and when it came to having a dream bike built for himself he came to us. We are so glad that he did, as he had a lovely vision of an old school BMW but wanted someone like us to see it through, and so we did.

The process started with a donor David had bought a while ago, a R100RS imported from USA. The condition was rather questionable and clearly it hadn’t been run in a decade. David had a mechanic working on the bike but it came to realisation soon that he needed someone to give it a complete down to crank strip down and redesign. He called us with the project in mind and we started working on it.

With all our classic bike builds, we completely stripped the bike including engine, gearbox and all mechanical down to the bare cases. Everything got vapour blasted to check out the damage time and weather had done.

Upon seeing everything in bare metal, we cleaned up all the mess and rebuilt all mechanics with brand new / better than original parts to make sure engine can run for another decade or longer without much problem to client. Our take on every motorcycle is that it must be best it can in the given time and budget. We don’t compromise on quality of the build no matter what.

Once we had the mechanicals together, we decided to leave it in bare meal to give the old school feel, and let is age naturally. Once mechanicals are in the frame, we started working on the frame design, we wanted an old school bobber looks so we lowered the front end up to 75mm and got Hagon to make us classic looking custom shocks to work with new weight and height of the bike.

After we have the rolling chassis together, we started working on the frame, we wanted it to flow nicely with the lines of the wheels in the rear. Following that we covered the classic TT rubber with full length mudguards, which is a rare item on our bikes as we like to keep the bike as minimal and clean as possible. Most of custom bikes don’t get ridden in rain as it’s customers pride and joy so we never needed them. However in this case we needed them for the style of the bike, so we had custom made aluminium mudguards and left them in bare brushed finish to match the engine. Mounted with brushed finish stainless steel studs just cleans up nicely whilst keeping with the style of the bike.

The simplicity and classic touch of the bike continues all over from brushed aluminium K-tech levers, rental grip and bars, classic BMW pinstriped tank with solid black paint, painted by Glenn at GD Design, which nicely continues plush leather seat to complete the look.

The tank is finished with billet machined fuel cap holding our logo proudly.

To breath some light into the bike we got custom loom made by Richard at Motorcycle Wiring Specialists with state of art toys from motogadet. Their M-unit runs the whole system including their switches, rear indicators (front rizoma), classic tail light to match big 7 inch headlight beautifully holding the motogadget speedo like the old /5 BMW’s.

Finished off with new stainless headers and classic megaphones tucked up tightly near the frame.

They sound amazing and ready for David to make it his pride and joy.
